🙏 Religion

How faith appears on your nation

Religion is a nation state shown next to Government and Economic Age. It comes from your faith sites (and, in the Stone Age, your Ascension history). Faith sites also set the spirituality ceiling. See Population.

How religion is chosen
  1. One faith site type leads → that named religion (for example three churches and one synagogue → Christian).
  2. A tie for the lead → Pluralist (your nation accepts many different faiths).
  3. Stone Age, no faith sites → a Stone Age tradition (Animist by default, or tied to your last Ascension).
  4. Later ages, no faith sites → Atheist.

Faith sites share a pool of 5 total across shrine, temple, synagogue, church, and mosque. Shrines unlock with farming; temples with writing; synagogues, churches, and mosques with the plow.

Atheist applies after the Stone Age when you have built no faith sites. Pluralist applies when you have faith sites but none maxed at three of a single type.

Stone Age traditions

First runs use ðŸŒŋ Animist. After Ascension, a new Stone Age run uses the tradition for your most recent completed path.
